Rejuvenation of Tribal Traditional Medicinal Practices

Rejuvenation of Tribal Traditional Medicinal Practices (RTTHMP) continues to make considerable progress in providing critical healthcare to tribal settlements in remote places. The Garden of HOPE Trust (GoHT) is facilitating the project, which addresses the lack of accessible healthcare in tribal areas and draws on indigenous healers’ traditional expertise.

The HIV/mental health team provided health education to rural development workers in Kotagiri community. A large number of workers attended the session. We discussed suicide prevention counseling and HIV awareness.

The HIV/mental health team held counseling sessions for health-care professionals. Health care providers and staff from primary health centers took part in the training. We discussed mental illness symptoms, basic counseling  skills, and HIV stigma reduction messaging delivered to workers.
